In Residence
Georgi Morrison
27th May - 25th August 2025
As part of Summer of Sculpture, a collaborative artist residency exploring the dynamic relationship between painting and sculpture, we’re thrilled to welcome painter Georgi Morrison as our Artist in Residence. Her time in the studio will be accompanied by a rotating showcase of sculptural works by Claire Jackson, Johannes Nielsen, and Natanya Barrett.
Over three months, Georgi will develop a new body of work responding directly to each sculptor’s practice. With a new sculptural installation introduced to the studio every month, Georgi will engage in a live, evolving conversation between mediums, translating form into flow, structure into atmosphere. Her paintings will reflect her signature dreamlike style and explore her residency theme, Form and Flow: an investigation into the tension between precision and movement, inspired by the dialogue between nature, architecture, and the human figure.
Georgi Morrison’s work explores the harmony found in contrasts: vibrant colours paired with muted tones, interior scenes melting into exterior landscapes, and solitary figures caught in quiet moments of reflection or transition. Her paintings often lean into subtly surreal themes and symbolism, offering a window into her inner world and perceptions of reality. The result is a body of work that feels at once familiar and dreamlike.
